This book is part mystery and part historical fiction following the lives of 3 generations of women affected by the internment of Japanese-American citizens during World War II. I was excited to read it because I find it hard to come across a good depiction of that time period (its easy for Americans to write about the Holocaust, but nobody ever wants to admit the nation's own wrong doing during this time period!)
In any event, I found the story to be interesting with a good (but not great) ending. It did seem like there could have been more detail throughout the novel...but then again I might just have new-mommy brain.
