Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators by Ronan Farrow

5.0

An eye-opening account of how people in power cover up their crimes. The majority of the book tells the horrors of how Harvey Weinstein raped women for decades, how he silenced victims and reporters, and how the scandal was eventually uncovered. The remaining quarter of the book further unravels Matt Lauer’s crimes at NBC (where Farrow worked while uncovering the Weinstein story), and the network’s silencing tactics which mirror Weinstein’s. The writing made for quick reading though I debated docking a star as the book seemed longer than necessary. At the end of it though, I felt that this book covered an important topic that is worth reading about.
