I went into Bride with no expectations, only vibes. Boy, did it deliver.

Misery was a wonderful pov to read from. You watch her grow and heal through her relationship with Ana and Lowe. There were a handful of moments the genuinely made me cackle with laughter and reflect on my own experience with loneliness. It was also a beautiful touch by Hazelwood to give the reader at the beginning of each chapter a little snippet into Lowe’s own feelings too.

If you came here for a spicy time, you will only find a deliciously paced slow burn with a satisfying moment of combustion, but that happens MUCH later in the book.
As for that infamous knotting scene? It occurs in the closing pages on the book, so if you’re new to the entire concept, this is a really good starting point into Omegaverse lore

Overall I enjoyed the storyline. It wasn’t overly complicated and didn’t strip us of the beautiful moments between Lowe and Misery and their growing relationship. In fact, the forced proximity of their situation forced them to work together to overcome generations of inter-species unrest and to forge their own path into a peaceful future.
