The Guardians by S. C. Storm, Rena Marin

3.0

I've got to admit I stopped reading the book at 50%, I just can't read anymore.
The plot line is in depth, and you're constantly learning something new throughout the book. There are a lot of characters, and some of their names are *out there* which slows the reading a bit, but it's manageable.
There's a lot of "name said" in the book. It's okay to use that some of the time, but it's important to not use it back and forth in a conversation where readers know who's talking. Using she/he would be better used with "said" when it must be used in conversation.
I really disliked the non-stop use of referring to Raymond as "the little man", sometimes twice in a matter of two sentences. The reader knows from the get-go he's little, it doesn't need to be excessively used, and in fact, it's a bit offensive.
There are quite a few continuity errors that occurred when they jumped forward 4 months. IE: Rian saying he'd just arrived, when in fact 4 months had passed.
The book needs some editing for spelling and grammar issues as well. When there was a brief conversation that used the word "damn" 5 times on 3 pages, I decided I had enough reading.
I'm giving it three stars because I really enjoy the plot line, and I think if the authors have the book properly edited for the errors, continuity issues, and repetitive text, that the book could be a really good read.
