i really liked the set-up for this book, but i just think the writing style really threw me off. it seemed a little rushed (not plot wise, just the way the sentences flow) and at times it feels a little childish, but maybe because this one was an early and less/un-edited version and maybe this has been cleaned up a little in the final version.
i'd love to get into the other books as they come out -- the world building in a fairytale setting was so much fun. it reminds me a little of the atmosphere "halloweentown" has - perfect for people who love that movie, actually!
fun and quick debut novel, and i'm sure isabel will get better the more she writes. excited for the rest to come!
