This book was so difficult to get through. And a few moments were left to plain old ugly crying. This book was depressing and highlighted the point of how depressing it can really be getting older. That simple things like no longer being able to care for your dog can be taken for granted.
Bo was honestly not a bad character, the book did a good job at showing his emotions and lack of memory rather than paining him as a grumpy old man. I feel like most of his actions are valid especially when his son made him give his dog to someone more capable of caring for him, he later came to terms that it was for the best but as someone who has always had a dog/pets growing up that decision being made for you would have hurt horribly.
On a lighter note the caregivers in this were all really lovely the one more so than the others. She always was in a good mood and genuinely tried to help the most.
