I'm genuinely disappointed in this one.
I got the SE as a gift and it truly is a stunning looking book. I'm a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi but this just felt complicated for the sake of being complicated.
It was so incredibly hard to get invested in any of the characters. There were multiple POV but there were such big gaps between characters i couldn't connect with them.
Also almost every sentence then had a full paragraph following it explaining yet another war and the history of the war. I felt like I needed to take notes so I could see who did what and when so I could reference it and understand what was going on.
It's a shame I couldn't enjoy it.
