Jack Reacher happens to be on a bus that crashes outside of the small town of Bolton, South Dakota, and he gets drawn into a police operation involving a supposed meth lab and a witness under police protection. But you know that when Reacher gets involved, the body count is going to go up.
Basically, this is a high-octane thriller, which is what one expects from Lee Child and his creation, Jack Reacher. There's not a lot of character development, and I figured out a main plot twist well before it happened, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment. Sometimes, you just need to read a book like this, just like sometimes you need to watch one of the John Wick movies.
