I love this story! Nick Dahlquist is down on his luck. He races sled dogs, but business has been rough these days. Chatting with an anonymous friend online is the one thing that brightens his day. Jae Washington arrives in Deep Haven to take a position as a pilot for the Crisis Response Team but decides to keep her real identity a secret. She’s the one that’s been chatting with Nick online.
I love getting to go back to Deep Haven, seeing some old characters but falling in love with the new ones. I love Jae’s tenacity as she tries to remember how to work as a team as the new girl in town. Of course, I love an underdog, and Nick (with actual dogs) makes the perfect hero as he tries to keep his kennel and pursue his dreams.
