Mightier Than the Sword: The Edge of the Word #2 by Alana Harrison, Drew Callander

3.0

Like an idiot, I didn't realise this is a second book in a series but I found I could read it fairly easily without the first book (but I want to read the first one).

This book is so immersive because it's told in second person and you are the hero of the story, you actually add to the story (literally) through your own words and pictures.

The characters are really interesting and unique plus the artwork is very comic like and so detailed I love how it supports the written word of the story.

It's so interactive with different puzzles like crosswords and riddles - plus footnotes for words children may not know yet or just funny one-liners. There's even a 'choose your own' ending (sort of) which made me want more of that - hopefully the authors write a whole choice based book.

This book really pulls you in and gives you an amazing adventure. So many kids will enjoy this...plus there are poop jokes.
