I’ve read this series multiple times and every read I’m just blown away with the attention to detail, the world building, the emotional depth of the characters, the prose, the themes, everything. I’m always shocked that this is a middle grade series- it has some deeply disturbing scenes and themes. The child cutters.. so gruesome. Such a creative and immersive story I’ll never forget. I’m listening to the audiobook this round and it’s incredible. Philip Pullman narrating and a full cast- such a treat.
