While there is some wonderful writing here, particularly relating to a character's imprisonment and the way she handles being completely deprived of sight, there's a thread through the novel that irritates me. I'm going to keep reading the series, but so help me, if these turn into romance-type novels, I'm going to be severely disappointed.
