Late to the Party by Kelly Quindlen

I really liked this book! I wonder what it would’ve been like for me to read it as a high schooler. I don’t think in high school I was yearning to go to parties and drink like Codi was, but I definitely felt the way she did about other things she felt behind on. I thought her and Lydia’s relationship was really sweet and well written: I like the honesty, vulnerability, and trust the author founded their relationship on. I was excited for Ricky that he was able to be honest with himself and snag a date with Tucker, it was cool seeing the story end with them having their moment in public together. I felt okay not know what would happen to Lydia and Codi’s relationship. I absolutely LOVED the car ride to JaKory’s first kiss and meet up with Daveon and them including Grant! Ricky driving was perfect. I love the sibling growth Grant and Codi had, their relationship was one of my favorites to watch how it mended. I like that at the end she acknowledged she still had a lot to learn about him.
