The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht
4.0

Ever since reading Everything Is Illuminated, I go into books by twentysomething authors primed to be annoyed by them. But I found this book to be pretty lovely. The present-day story is a little New-Yorker-short-story-ish for me (not much happens but you know you're supposed to appreciate a profound epiphany), but the history/myth sections were a joy to read. And I thought the relationship between the granddaughter and the grandfather was very well-drawn.
