This is a nice little book containg 2 novellas/parables by Tolstoi: "How Much Land Does a Man Need" and "What Men Live By".
Both of these stories are lessons meant to teach the reader something; one of them focuses on greed and what we think of ourselves( in terms of moral standing) and the other is about kindness and humanity.
Although I was excited to read "How much land..", I ended up loving the second story more.(not only due to the more complex themes like kindness and human nature being discussed, but the actual writing style is more adult than for the first one; where the lessons feel that they are meant for a middle grade audience). Nothing wrong with that, I just expected a different beast than what I actually got. :)))
I truly enjoyed this little book and I highly recommend it to EVERYONE (especially if you have kids and you want to teach them about greed, kindness and human nature). Hope this collection makes someone reflect on thier behaviour just like me!
Enjoy
