The Promised Prince takes place in sort of a post apocalyptic setting. There was a “Desolation” - (year 2055) an end of the world type situation, where lots of wars and devastation took place. Totally turning the world upside down. The book starts 200 years after the desolation, when the world has been semi rebuilt- but not the same as it once was.
He's promised to another. She's promised to forget him.
Book 2 was another great addition to this fun swoony series. Like the last book, the writing was captivating and stole my attention from the very start. I will say, this one was a bit more angsty than the first book, but I enjoyed the banter and push and pull from the characters. Trev was adorable and Renna was fun, her personality was refreshing. They both made some dumb decisions that I didn’t care too much for and it drove me a little crazy. The dress?!? Renna what were you thinking? But, their chemistry was so quirky and cute- it was hard to stay mad at them. Besides kissing, I would say this was a clean read for older YA readers. I liked how there was a little more action in this one and a little mystery. Overall, not my favorite of the series so far, but still an addicting, enjoyable read.
