Once again I have been emotionally destroyed by Madeline Miller in the best way possible. Beautiful writing, beautiful tale. Complicated characters whose stories and actions are interwoven and tied up in a very satisfying way. Only thing stopping this from being a full 5 stars is that I found it quite slow towards the end
when Penelope and Telemachus arrived to the island and spent a few days swapping stories about Odysseus
but otherwise, a stunning book. There are some truly grisly parts of the book that are somehow written so beautifully that they still sound poetic, and I felt immersed even in the outlandish events of Greek mythology. What incredible character development too - the ending felt perfect in light of where Circe started and all that she had been through.
