i think i liked vol 4 more than vol 5 just because 4 has a lot more internal processing and this vol is way more about WAR and FIGHTING but it's also really fascinating to see all these different groups of people coming together. i'm very curious to see this war play out and i REALLY want to see a tuya maika reunion soon bc i can just TELL it's going to be dramatic. i'm so mad i have to wait for another volume now UGH.
this series continues to grow on me every time i reread it and more volumes come out because it's such a complex world and magic system. but i love the characters, i love the themes and the heart of this story, and i absolutely adore the art. this is the perfect series for people who want to read princess mononoke - but also it's better? definitely a wider scope. maybe i'm just a sucker for gods and monsters.
