Forgetting: The Benefits of Not Remembering
by Scott A. Small
In this book, Small explores how the human memory works and how it’s supposed flaws are actually beneficial to us. The most interesting chapter to me was the chapter on fear and how memories can cause us to have fear toward things and create incorrect correlations. This is an instance where forgetting can be beneficial to your brain. It allows you to continue doing tasks needed to survive without fear.
