I honestly don’t know what to rate this one. I’m hooked on the story and desperately want to know what happens, but it’s also not a story that makes me feel good in any way. Major trigger warning for

graphic depictions of a murdered child (just 6 years old) - over and over again as the characters think about/remember her

. This was super off-putting and made me feel a little sick, honestly. At this point, having read the whole first book, I almost feel like I have to keep reading because

I need to see the rest of the children escape/survive/win; and if they don’t, or they lose more children along the way, it’s going to really upset me…
