Justice for misaki lmao. While she went through some beautiful character work, I just wanted more for her. I got to the part where she realized her kids wouldn’t fulfill her and thought “yeah, that’s realistic for a lot of women but we don’t talk about it” only for her to totally do a 180 by the end. Which is great for her, and her character arc was satisfying, but I guess she’s a better woman than me bc I wouldn’t be able to get over 15 years of abuse and neglect like that. you know what? Actually justice for mamoru too. I just want his family to know he mastered the whispering blade before he died😭😭 I went into this knowing that while it’s technically a standalone, it’s kind of a related backstory of sorts to wang’s discontinued series, so the kind of unfinished feeling story didn’t bother me much at the end. All in all, a completely heartbreaking yet resilient story.
