Finally we get to book #8 and the story of Pa Salt. The Seven Sisters are all onboard the Titan to give their father the send-off he requested. His staff are all clearly in on something and Ally suspects just as much. Regardless, they are all given Pa Salt's story to read. As always, I loved the story of the past and could not care all that much for the present. Cece is still my fave but the rest of the girls are just not that likeable - although I liked Electra and Merry more (I could not stand Merry in book #7); and god Tiggy's "psychic" ability being brought up yet again was so irritating. I loved reading the origins of Pa Salt - fascinating how it ties into the girls' own family history and I too loved how the girls came into his life. I loved learning about Marina, Georg and Claudia. Kreeg Eszu takes stubborn mindedness to a whole other level. His hatred for Atlas lasted 80+ years for goodness sake and the lengths he went to to interfere with Atlas' life is frankly diabolical, simply because

he just didn't like him / he felt his mother favoured him! Very, very weak I thought. Especially since it seems he acknowledges Atlas didn't kill his mother and that the diamond belongs to Atlas anyway - Kreeg's mother stole it from Atlas' mother when she was in labour with him! Who does that? She nearly died! The apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree.

The fabulous Richard Armitage narrated this book and he is nothing short of brilliant. A satisfying end to an otherwise mediocre series. Lucinda Riley at her best!
