if you are not feeling reading this book, i actually recommend the movie.
they're almost 1 to 1 and the movie adds a bit more of context that forster couldn't because the whole gay thing was illegal back in his time. don't let the marketing of the movie fool you into thinking hugh grant is the main character... he plays clive and forster kinda hated clive by the end of the book (his afterword is so funny).
maurice as a character is very gray and kinda boring but it's nice to see him grow from his classist views to persue love.
