Oaths & Vengeance by Susan Illene
5.0

I am new to Susan's work, and I genuinely think this might be up there with TOG as one of my favourite series.. and it's only book 1!!

The vivid world was so breathtakingly detailed, from feisty vegetation to a millennia old war between kingdoms.

The chemistry between the characters, all of them, not just romantically, thrived and developments just kept surfacing layer by layer.

I devoured this book in a sitting. Which is not to say it's a quick read, I haven't slept, again, because of pain flares, and my only relief was pouring through the pages with abandon.

While so much was delivered within a single novel, there is still so much more to discover, new plots, more dangerous battles and increasingly humourous banter.

I am just gutted I have to wait for a sequel, just to lift this misery that now currently envelops me regarding the plot twists.

The sweet harmony of nature must be restored.

The conclusion left such intrigue in my path, that I worry about finding another to fill the void until the next drop.

I can honestly say I didn't expect to love a storyline so much, I tend to stick with characters of a younger adult age, but I think this a beautiful tale that will readily gain clout with other fantasy fans.

Though the past is full of darkness and secrets, I have no doubt the next installment will deliver equal amounts of flair and intrique,

I particularly loved seeing how the romance aspect comes to fruition. And the carnivorous plants.
I'd kill for a few of those to keep unwanted guests at bay.

I'm so excited to see whatever comes next.

Rooting for certain characters.

Plenty of smug, fae breeds

If you like political intrigue, war ravaged locales and dizzying smutty goodness. with touch and her die vibes, she's mine, fated, quests, and Shadow daddy vibes,
This book will surely be what you seek.

5 shiny stars for you.

I can't wait for the rest of the series.
