“Everybody Lies” by Stephens-Davidowitz is a must read. This economist analyzed millions of google searches to uncover people’s thoughts, fears, & desires. He skillfully weaves discussion of big data, data analysis methods, & shocking big data findings. Like: How much sex do people really have? Do violent movies increase violent crime? Do people regret having kids? He also discusses the ethics & limitations of big data.

I’m so glad I read it. I couldn’t put it down! “Everybody Lies” joins “The Power of Habit” by Charles Duhigg & “Privacy” by Garret Keizer as my favorite eye opening books about our culture & how big data is created & used to understand, predict, & manipulate our actions. You will really enjoy this book!
