Ghost Eaters

This was definitely disturbing. There were parts that had a really impressive horror element to it and then other parts I felt were just kind of gross? (Do NOT read if you have emetophobia). I kinda liked the overarching theme of being a sort of supernatural take on addiction. Imagine a drug that allowed you to communicate with the dead - suddenly you can speak to all of your loved ones you’ve ever lost again - but only if you keep taking it.
Unfortunately I thought the execution of this plot was lacking for me. As one fellow reader said - death is one of the only things in life that we ALL have in common - so why didn’t I feel absolutely any sort of camaraderie with the main characters? Ah well - had to read a spooky book during October didn’t I!
