Captivating! I literally JUST put it down and shortly after this am I going to be starting book 2. I was pulled in to the story from the beginning by the characters and magic system (both very interesting). I was surprised countless times and found myself conflicted by my own opinions on the characters even more often. Reading The Black Prism was a truly engaging experience for me. I'll definitely be reading through this whole series (at least once). One of my favourite reads in a long time.
