Sisterland
by Curtis Sittenfeld
I agree with others who had problems with the ending, which seemed rushed and probably unrealistic. But I still give this book four stars. As she had in her other books, the author included wonderful details ("Little Miss Can't Be Wrong") that so perfectly captured my own childhood/teenage/early adult years. This was the first book in a while that caught and kept my attention -- I've had some trouble lately getting into the books I've been choosing to read, and this one hooked me from the beginning. I especially enjoyed Kate's struggle to reconcile her loyalty to her family (sister and father) to her role and responsibilities in her other family (husband and children). The earthquake prediction kept the pace rolling along, but I equally enjoyed the flashbacks.
