A new favorite. Tara Westover is a compelling author. Although some of the stories in her memoir have been disputed, she displays her ethos honestly, mentioning more than once that her memory is not perfect. Nevertheless, this story reads as truthful and the abuse undergone by the author and her siblings is not a new one from that particular religious background and geography. Still, this narrative is telling of intergenerational mental illness and in that, there is great truths to be found.
