atarnus 's review for:
Dim Sum Asylum
by Rhys Ford
I initially read the novella version of this story on [b:Charmed and Dangerous|25912719|Charmed and Dangerous|Jordan Castillo Price|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1437488487l/25912719._SY75_.jpg|45800532]. While the first chapters remains mostly the same, there are some inserts and even crucial differences, so in no way one could pick up the novella and continue from some point of this book.
I really liked the main character and the grittier fae world China town setting is definitely interesting, differing from many of the fantasy clichés.
Overall there was so many things going on that I felt a bit out of breath getting to the end. That left me with a slightly unsatisfied feeling, so this isn't a 4,5 or 5 for me.
The cover is a thing of beauty, I think I would have ended up buying the book at some point just because of it.
