Worth a read for the lovers of the original Covenant series.
Seth and Josie as a couple didnt wow me. I didnt fall in love with them, nor did I root for them. I wanted them to triumph over evil (whatever/whomever evil might be in this complicated setting) but that's it.
The original series had more compelling drama, action, humor.
And it had Alex and Aiden whose connection was palatable. Whose story was engaging.
In The Struggle we get politics and power games from the Gods, but none of it drew me into the story. Facts, new Gods, secrets were just thrown into the story in a jumbled way.
I enjoyed meeting old and beloved characters but the lead pair wasn't enough to hold the story together.
