The Wisdom of Crowds by Joe Abercrombie
5.0

Joe Abercrombie is the author I immediately think of for authors that I like that I have trouble recommending to others. Its taken me three years to read through his backlist as he us 100% a slow read author for me. His books are the definition of grimdark. Absolutely chock full of blood, death, rot, and terrible, terrible people.
The Wisdom of Crowds is the final installment in the second trilogy in the world of the first law, and I think it is by far his best book. The "great change" has come and the wisdom of the crowds takes hold in the Union- which if you know anything about Abercrombie will not be an easy change. I honestly didn't see the ending coming which is unusual for me (maybe I should have). The ending is also left open enough that he could write a third trilogy in this world, though I don't know that I want that. Overall, I found it a very satisfying ending and now I'll take an Abercrombie break for another year. I need to read something full of love and flowers.
