Family vloggers will rue the day!
But seriously, this was a very well written recounting of Shari’s life and times as the child of an abusive family vlogger. It all happened so recently I can’t imagine being in Shari’s position. I really appreciate how intentional she was in keeping her siblings’ identities safe especially since adults have failed them so much in the past.
I’m appreciative of Shari’s willingness to share her story because honestly there just needs to be more restriction on family vlogging. We need to listen to the stories we have of the children of family vloggers when they say that it was a harmful way to grow up. Even if it doesn’t turn out to be as physically abusive as Ruby Franke was to her children, it is still horrible to grow up with all your personal information online and having to perform for unknown audiences. I hope the Franke children are able to heal & I’m happy to know that they are all in therapy.
