How can I describe this fresh, beautiful story? It’s unlike anything I’ve read, but if you like Becky Chambers’ worlds, you’ll love this one. It’s got deeply queer social norms, animal rights, lush landscapes that you will be dying to visit, and corporate villains pitted against self-governing true democracies and worker co-operatives…all 60,000 into the future from our reality. It’s grand in scope and timeline, but still gives you memorable characters who are quirky but real (even when they are a type of sentient “person” you’d never have imagined on your own.
