I struggled to get into this book until about the 43% mark where the story picked up. The beginning was slow, a lot of dialogue and heavy on medical terminology and situations. I also had a hard time connecting with Violet, which honestly makes sense for her character so well done there.
However the second half of this book really makes up for the first half’s pace. The plots start to come together and the characters have excellent growth. I was pleasantly surprised with it!
For anyone who may need it, flagging a TW for on page sexual harassment by senior colleague toward the tail end of the book.
Thank you to HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for the ARC!
