Wilder Girls

3.5 — I had high hopes for Wilder Girls. The body horror brought on by the Tox was super compelling and thoughtfully written. Unlike other reviewers, I actually didn’t mind not knowing too much about how the disease came to be and why it affected each person in different, grotesque ways. To me, those unanswered questions actually raised the stakes in terms of how dangerous the diseases actually was.
But I really wish there was more exploration on the dynamics between the girls and the school staff as well as the quarantined patients + the navy/CDC. There seemed to be references to a larger conspiracy near the end that I wish there was more follow through on.
