Eragon by Christopher Paolini
4.0
Read it when I was younger and loved it, but couldn't remember all the details of why so when I found it at a FLL in my neighborhood, decided to try it again. Being an adult who has since seen LOTR, it helped me visualize everything better.
While it does have a seeming essence of Tolkien adventure, the world of dragons and those who ride them is still a new enough idea that I am entertained. I didn't realize the author was young when he wrote it or anything - yes, writing seems a little more simple and pacing was odd at times but this book was meant for younger audiences, like my younger self, so I was able to give it a pass. It doesn't have to be a literary masterpiece for me. Even Harry Potter wasnt written well. Enjoyed the adventure and can't wait for the next one.
