So I decided to do a re-read before the sequel comes out, because I adore this book!! It’s one of my favourites and this is my third time reading it and it’s still so great 😁. I adore Effy and Preston so much, Effy is definitely one of my favourite female characters that I’ve read and I really like how their relationship develops. The commentary on feminism in here is also wonderfully done and the atmosphere is so lush and eerie. The writing is stunningly whimsical and I just love how fever-dream it feels at times. This just feels like a love letter to stories and I adore it 🖤
