The Light Between Oceans
by M.L. Stedman
It took me three tries of opening this book, reading the first two pages and casting it inside before I really got into it, and I am so glad I did. I loved this book. Oh, how I felt for each of the characters in this book. Though I thought it went on a bit after the arrest, I found the writing to be beautiful and moving. The pain of losing a child through miscarriage or stillbirth, (or at any age for that matter) is so devastating, but especially for someone to whom it occurs multiple times. That feeling that your body is failing you combined with the incredible sense of loss of something so precious can undoubtedly make a woman feel desperate. My heart ached for each one of these characters- I love a book that can move me to tears! Brilliant!
