The concept of this book is interesting, but I feel like the writing style made it fall flat. I didn't think the main characters had much depth, and the various worlds they go to felt under-developed. At times, I felt like there was too much going on (plot was stretched thin), but at other times, the plot felt shallow. Overall, it was just meh. Didn't interest me enough to continue with the next book of the duology.
