Bio: Nick Gentry (Sophia's dodgy brother fro Lady Sophia's Lover ) is a rich-ass thief taker with severe intimacy issues due to a traumatic adolescence on a prison hulk followed by a life of being a leading figure in London's criminal underworld. Basically a Regency Private Investigator he's sent to find Lottie and bring her back to the gross old Duke she ran away from marrying. He's immediately obsessed and marries her himself instead. Sexual awakenings and emotional intimacy issues abound.

This is the first historical romance novel I ever read (excluding Ransom My Heart which is another story) which is probably why it's still one of my all time faves. This book doesn't get enough recognition from Romancelandia imo; it's super steamy - the male lead is basically being a fully trained tantric sex God (just go with it)! There's a shower sex scene for God's sake! Nick's emotional baggage can be a lot but there's a lot of domestic intimacy throughout the book because they marry so early on in the story which is very much my vibe.
