This book was a great debut! The body horror had me flinching to the point that I had to stop reading for a second. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but

I think the open ending, with lots of questions left, fit perfectly.

 

The characters were a bit one dimensional, but

i think that’s because the main character is unreliable and twisting the narrative.

In conclusion, I think it’s a must read if you like mermaids and body horror.
