We have my favorite character show up,
blur haired  catboy Bloedhgarm
and we get an epic scene of Saphira contacting Roran mentally while he is
getting busy with Katrina
.

Strengths: Sword-construction montage, Arya's battle scenes later in the book, Roran being a bad-ass motherfucker, and learning to fight ingrained cultural biases against The Evil Race (quote unquote).

Weaknesses: Disappointing and almost anticlimactic end for
Glaedr and Oromis
.
