The Fault in Our Stars
by John Green
My son recommended this book to me as one of his personal favorites. I was the last member of our family of four to read it (including my 6th grade daughter), and the finally tally was 3 family members highly impressed and the 4th a little less so. My opinion was in the majority. This is not a happy read, but it approached a dark topic with a snarky sense of humor that I thoroughly loved. Green's books was a page turner and a quick read, which worked out perfectly for knocking this out while flying. The character development was well done, the major plot twist heart wrenching, and the overall story one that tugged hard at deep emotions. If your sense of humor is a irreverent and tends a bit toward the darker side of life, I think you'll find this book to be powerful and worthwhile.
