This one had been sitting on my TBR for ages and it finally made its way into the rotation for this years spooky season reads.
I am utterly fascinated with stories that delve into the darkest pieces of humanity - the cracks and shadows where evil can take root and thrive.
A 600 page book can really be a doozy, but I was devouring it the whole way. Really great balance of characters that kept things interesting as well as a masterful blend of horror and humor.
My favorite piece of the book by far (and I almost wish it could have been expanded a bit) was the darker thoughts as expressed by the bold italics.. Super interesting structure concept that I latched onto early.
Overall, a terrifyingly wild unhinged ride!
