3/5 🌶️

(Absent/neglectful father, emotional abuse, "single mom" figure (little brothers), panick attacks, friends with benefits, safe person, "i need you to find her i only want her" meltdown trope, i made you a playlist trope)

this isn’t a book i would pick up but someone said it was a romance about a figure skater and a hokey player and that they helped each other with panic attacks and i picked it up right away

it was way more tho, it deals with hard and serious topics like alcholism, abuse, neglect and trauma.
but it deals with them in a very respectfull and well written way.
I was sceptical at first but the way Sadie and Rys are with the other helps them heal and overcome those traumas.
also the spice is good lol

however...i felt like the end was not done right, up until they talk with coach Kelly all was good but then it all just fixes itself and the author kinda just explains whats happening instead of being there along with the main protagonists.
felt rushed and that was the big part, about how they handled the child's custody and the dad situation...it happens in like 20 pages i felt like it should have been longer
