Despite this novel touching some very difficult subject matters, Ryn keeps it light-hearted through the intrinsically positive titular character of Dawn Brightside. Ryn is clearly an excellent writer and her easy-going contemporary style is such a palate-cleanser. This book is very moreish and it guarantees the reader a little titter on more than a few occasions. 'The Extraordinary Hope of Dawn Brightside' is a must read debut novel.
