Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion

3.0

The essays I liked, I REALLY liked.
I found it hard to approach some of her writing since it relays heavily on American references and pop culture at the time which I am completely oblivious to.

Her writing on experiences were magnificent. Her time in her twenties in New York, as the closing essay, titled “Goodbye to All That” brought me almost to tears. Didion has the ability to put down the running though and analysis of human experience which I often find myself having upon some experiences. She makes beautiful metaphors and knows how to strike the readers imagination.

Also, her underlying journalistic approach to life remains quite an amazing aspect of her writing to me!
