Midnight's Daughter by Karen Chance
5.0

I just cannot get enough of Karen Chance and this world. She is one author, like Patricia Briggs and Jim Butcher, that I never want the book to end, and I wish I lived in the world they have created. I was impressed by this book, because it was a spin-off on her earlier series. I thought Chance did a great job incorporating places and characters we already knew into the new story line. And I loved the interactions between Dory and Louis-Cesare. LC was a really interesting character and I can't wait to read more about him. My only (and very very small) gripe with this book was that it seemed that Chance wanted Dory to battle every species of supernatural creature all at one time, and I thought she could have saved some of the craziness for later books. It got a little overly-intense toward the end. Otherwise, I loved it.
