Craft in the Real World: Rethinking Fiction Writing and Workshopping by Matthew Salesses

informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

This book examines institutionalized expectations and assumptions about craft and makes visible the positions of privilege from which they originate. Salesses also offers thoughtful definitions of elements of craft and provides exercises for writing, revision, and even a syllabus example for incorporating these ideas into workshops, classrooms, and writing groups. If you are a fiction writer or especially a teacher, I would consider this a must-read.
